 Mediterranean cruise review 2007

On board the MS Westerdam

The cruise set sail from Civitavecchia in Rome, Italy aboard the Holland-America MS Westerdam
on the 18th September 2007 with a host of Irish entertainers and once again including of course
our very own Ann Breen. The cruise was a sell out with over 2000 guests.
The cruise started with a huge reception given by Gertrude Byrne (the cruise promoter) with live

Once on board the guests had lunch and later the New York Showband entertained everyone to an
Irish sail away party as the ship set sail at 5.00pm to sail the Mediterranean.

The itinerary had it all as we experienced the romantic history and breathtaking beauty of the regions enchanting
ports, romantic coastlines and distinguished cities.
Anyone who has been on a cruise will know that the food, accommodation and facilities are first classbut on this
occasion the entertainment from the all star Irish artists was outstanding.

Ann appeared on Wednesday evening at 8.00pm in the Vista lounge along with Brendan Shine
and Druid. On the Thursday evening Ann appeared again at 10.00pm in the Vista lounge along
with Brendan & Aisling Bower, Mac & O and Michael English.

On Monday evening we were treated to a farewell cabaret extravaganza by the all star Irish cast
including of course our very own Ann Breen.
All the artists who had appeared during the week gave a final performance and this was a chance
for us to enjoy another fabulous evening.

After talking to Ann, she agreed that it had been an enjoyable experience working once again on board a cruise ship
which also gave her time to relax and enjoy the many attractions and facilities that the cruise ship had to offer.
Ann has again been invited to appear on the cruise in February 2008 which will set sail from Port Everglades in
Fort Lauderdale, Florida on board the MS Westerdam. For further information on this cruise, click here
